At the end of May the fifth Kazakhstan Defence Expo (KADEX) was held at the airport of Astana. I went there to see airplanes from Kazakhstan Air Force, but first we went to Almaty. At this civil airport you can also find Military transport aircraft from Kazakhstan.

We found a variety of military transport aircraft, such as An-26, An-74, Il-76, Tu-154 and C295M. Also some Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters, An-26 and Tu-154's were stored there.

At the end of the day we went to Astana for the KADEX. We had arranged press cards, so that we could also come on the floor during the trading days. Unfortunately this version of the KADEX was a disappointment when it comes to the number of planes and helicopters that were present on the static and that flew.

The only foreign participation were the Turks, who were present with an Airbus A400M and the Solo-Turk.
